Steve and Mary Ann -- you won't believe this, but I was in the first

accident of my life yesterday morning. After slamming on the

brakes, I felt the impact and worried, as I had the top down on my car.

Don't know the damage yet, possibly the entire left side, but I am,

miraculously, OK. Kind of a hurtin' puppy today, but glad to be alive.

Now I have the hassle of getting a new car or getting my Sebring fixed

and going through all of the insurance issues. She was cited, fined

almost $200 (which really doesn't seem enough to me) and lost 4 points

on her license. She was very nice, though -- admitted instantly that it

was her fault. Anyway, what you said before is so true. I WAS paying

attention, or I could've been seriously injured or killed.

Thanks for the uptick in awareness! Just wanted you to know -- and don't

worry, I'm OK.
